Postpartum and Sibling Doula

Hi! I’m Grace Dalton (she/her), and 5 years ago, I had never heard of a doula! Now, I’m so thankful to be a postpartum and sibling doula, joining Madeline and Little Birdie Birth. I’ve worked with families and children in lots of capacities, but I especially love getting to join families as they welcome their newest additions.

I’ve recently worked in the non-profit sector, and also have a background in dance education. My experience over the last 18 years has been mostly focused on teaching and mentoring, and I am loving expanding my reach into nurturing and serving.

Postpartum is a time that is often forgotten, and I want to make sure that in the midst of the excitement of welcoming a new baby, the care doesn’t stop for the new parent. It’s easy to “go back to normal” after the first few weeks — a partner might return to work, grandparents return home, and friends stop bringing meals. My goal is to make sure that there continues to be care for the new family, even when other support fades away. Every family deserves support, no matter who is involved. Whether you’re a single parent with no family around, or you have all the support you think you might need, I would love to come alongside you and usher you into this new season with love and joy.

Mental health is also very important to me. I believe there is a time for holistic care, and a time for medical intervention. I am passionate about postpartum mood disorders, and supporting families through finding the resources they need to be their healthiest selves. We have a wonderful community of perinatal support people in Colorado Springs, and I would love to get you connected to all the resources you might need.

Postpartum support is completely individualized, and I love having the flexibility to be able to help at any hour, day or night. I love joining families as they bring their new little ones into their home for the first time, and also watching the transformation over those first few weeks, as parents learn who this tiny little alien is going to be. Cooking, cleaning, organizing, and quick errands are all a part of nurturing you as you become a family. I love to organize, and would love to help you create systems that serve you. I have some great recipes up my sleeve, and would love to help you stock your freezer. I’m also a night owl, so overnight work is one of my favorite things. My greatest goal is to help you and your family feel supported, so that you can enjoy your new baby.

Postpartum is beautiful, intense, sweaty, and complicated. I would love to walk with you through this season. Contact me today and check out my postpartum packages, so we can make plans for your amazing postpartum experience.
